It’s interesting that people are worked up about the whatsapp policy change but don’t realize it’s always been that way for regular text messages.
Your phone service provider can and does read/analyze/share the text messages you send and receive.
If you care about your privacy, you should be using an end-to-end encryption app like Signal, or even better, a Matrix-compatible app for messaging.
