For example, your bank calls you saying your account has been hacked; hang up and call the bank back directly to confirm (go to the source). Don’t give any personal info out to people that initiate contact with you.
Example #2: Your friend posts that tide-pods are delicious when fried. Track down the actual source, someone that has actually tasted them, before trying it yourself. (Hint - you may find them in the hospital)
